Atheists hate God. How can you hate something that doesn't exist?

Atheists do not "hate God". It is impossible to hate something that does not exist. I don't hate Odin, Vishnu, Yahweh, or any other deity because I do not think they are there to hate.

Some believers think that atheists hate God because we often argue against the premises and assertions of religion, but our disagreement is with the ideas held by religious people and the actions they often take because of those ideas, not because we think an actual God is out there and we don't care for him/her.
